Dr. Carl Drago

Dr. Carl Drago is a Board-certified prosthodontist who has enjoyed a multi-faceted career that includes private practice, dental implant manufacturing/medical devices, academic teaching of pre- and post-doctoral students, professional writing and journal editor.

He started his career in 1981 after completing his post-doctoral education in prosthodontics (MS) at the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at San Antonio. He was recruited by the Gundersen Lutheran Health System in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and practiced in this multi-specialty group practice for 30+ years. During that time, he was actively engaged in clinical practice, research and writing. He has over 95 professional, peer-reviewed publications and 5 textbooks to his credit.

Dr. Drago served in the medical/dental implant industry as the Director of Dental Research at Biomet 3i. At Biomet 3i he was responsible for dental research in postgraduate prosthodontic programs. He has also been actively involved throughout his career teaching general dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, dental laboratory technicians, and dental staff basic and advanced techniques involved in treating patients with complex restorative challenges.
